Güverte Restaurant
Güverte is the Turkish word for a ship’s deck, and the restaurant lives up to it: its tables sit on a deck built out over the water on Göcek’s seafront. It has served fish, meze and grilled meat here since 2005.
A deck over Göcek Bay
The restaurant says it has been open since 2005. It describes its cooking as fresh fish, carefully prepared meat and Mediterranean dishes, served with rakı and wine. Daily Sabah’s 2022 guide to Göcek called it a classic Turkish restaurant, set on a deck on the sea. It also hosts private dinners, celebrations and company events.
What to order
The menu follows the shape of a traditional Turkish evening: cold meze and starters first, then hot starters, then fish or grilled meat. Order a spread of cold meze to share with a glass of rakı, then ask what fish is in that day and how the kitchen would cook it. For meat eaters there are red and white meat dishes, and the menu also has pastas, salads and desserts.
Getting there from the yacht
Güverte is on Turgut Özal Caddesi, on the western part of the town waterfront, a short walk from Skopea Marina and the municipal quay. From D-Marin, at the southern end of town, allow roughly 15 minutes on foot along the seafront. If the yacht is at anchor in the bay, the crew can bring you ashore by tender to the town quay.
Good to know
Book ahead in July and August, when Göcek fills with charter yachts. The website has a booking form for groups of up to ten, or you can reserve by phone. Opening days and hours change through the season, so check when you book.
