A birthday yacht charter gives you a private yacht with her own captain and crew for a day, a night or a whole week: lunch at anchor, a swim off the stern, then cake and champagne on deck as the sun goes down. We arrange crewed yachts in Florida and the Bahamas, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, with daily rates from $4,714. Most yachts sleep up to 12 guests, and group yachts take more. Tell us the date and how many are coming, and we will send the yachts that are free.

When you charter a yacht for a birthday, the whole yacht is yours. There are no other passengers, a professional captain takes care of navigation and mooring, and on most yachts a chef and stewards cook, serve and look after the details. You decide how long to stay aboard, and the crew plans the day around the celebration.
That is different from what many people in the US mean by a birthday yacht rental: a party boat hired by the hour from a city marina. We do not run hourly party boats, so if a three-hour cruise from your local marina is what you need, a local operator is the better choice. If you want the celebration to be the trip itself, there are three ways to do it.

Board in the morning, cruise to a quiet bay for a swim and lunch, and sail back at sunset. On the French Riviera, APOLLONIA and ROMY ONE take day charters from Cannes; elsewhere, ask us which yachts accept a single day.
Keep the yacht after dark: dinner at anchor, a night in the cabins and breakfast at sea the next morning. One- and two-night stays are easiest to find outside July and August. Make it an overnight birthday.
For a milestone, many groups take the yacht for a week: a new island or harbor each day and a different setting for the birthday dinner. Most yachts in our fleet are priced by the week.
Crewed yachts for a birthday party on the water, by area, with each yacht’s listed rate. Guest numbers are for sleeping aboard; more people can often join for a day or for a party in port. APA and VAT are added unless stated.

Get a birthday quoteA yacht birthday party can be anything from one evening for two to a week for twenty. These are the plans we are asked about most.
Milestones suit a long weekend or a week with close friends: a beach-club lunch one day, a quiet anchorage the next, and the birthday dinner on deck, cooked by the yacht’s chef. A five-cabin yacht sleeps ten; for a bigger party, look at the large group yachts above.
For older guests, choose a larger motor yacht or a catamaran for steadier decks, and ask for zero-speed stabilizers, which reduce rolling at anchor. Tell us about mobility before we shortlist: some yachts have a lift or cabins on the main deck, and shorter passages with a marina berth near town make the days easier.
Children are welcome on most crewed yachts. Give us their ages so the crew can have children’s life jackets ready and plan swims and water toys to suit; a catamaran gives young children more flat deck space.
The captain applies the drinking-age law of the country you are in: 21 in US waters, and 18 in most of Europe and the Caribbean. Agree the drinks with the crew before the day.
Crews are used to surprises. Send us the plan (who arrives when, the cake, a favorite drink, the music) and we pass it to the captain, so everything is ready when the guest of honor steps aboard.
For a smaller celebration, one evening is often enough: a sunset cruise and dinner at anchor, or stay the night and wake up at sea.
The crew works to your plan and the captain adjusts the timing to the weather. A typical birthday day charter looks like this.

10:00
The crew meets you at the marina with a welcome drink and a safety briefing, then the yacht leaves the harbor.
11:00
Time on the sun deck while the captain heads for a sheltered bay.
12:30
Drop anchor, swim off the stern and try the water toys or a tender ride.
13:30
The chef serves lunch on deck, planned around the menu you chose before the charter.
16:00
The cake comes out with your chosen drinks while the yacht is quiet at anchor.
18:30
Cruise back along the coast as the sun goes down.
19:30
Step ashore for dinner, or keep the yacht for the night with dinner at anchor and breakfast at sea.
A birthday aboard is priced like any crewed charter. Your written quote lists every part of it before you book.
The yacht, her crew and insurance, for a day, a night or a week. In Florida and the Bahamas, daily rates on this page start at $4,714. Most yachts are priced by the week.
The advance provisioning allowance, usually 20–35% of the rate, covers fuel, food, drinks and berths. The captain keeps the receipts and refunds what is not spent.
Set by the country where the charter takes place, and shown as its own line in your quote.
Optional and paid at the end; 10–20% of the charter rate is customary for good service.
A cake from a local patisserie, flowers, a photographer or musicians are quoted separately. Mention them when you enquire.
Cost per guest
COLETTE 64 is listed at $4,714 a day for up to 8 guests. Shared by 8, that is about $589 per person per day, before APA, VAT and tip.

Every yacht has its own house rules, and we confirm them in writing before you book. These are the questions birthday groups ask most.
On most yachts, yes. The chef can bake one, or you can have a cake delivered to the yacht from a local patisserie; tell the crew in advance so there is room in the fridge.
Within limits. Most yachts do not allow confetti, glitter, sky lanterns or anything that could stain the teak or blow into the sea. Candles on the cake are usually fine; ask before bringing balloons or banners.
Usually the crew buys drinks for you through the APA, from a list you send before the charter. Some yachts let you bring your own wine or champagne, sometimes for a corkage fee.
Most yachts sleep up to 12 guests. For a day charter or a party in port the limit can be higher, and local rules can lower it in some places, including US waters. We confirm the number for your yacht, date and route.
Children of all ages are welcome on most crewed yachts. Alcohol follows the law of the country you are in.
Relaxed by day. Most yachts ask guests to go barefoot or wear soft-soled shoes on deck to protect the teak, so keep the heels for dinner ashore.
From your first message to the cake on deck, in four steps.
Tell us the birthday, how many are coming, where you would like to celebrate and roughly what you want to spend.
We check which yachts are free and send options with a written quote showing the rate, APA, VAT and any delivery fee.
A charter agreement and a 50% deposit secure the yacht. The balance is due one month before you board.
Share the birthday plan, food and drink preferences and any surprises, and we brief the crew.
For July and August in the Mediterranean, or Christmas and New Year in the Caribbean, book several months ahead: the most popular yachts go first. At other times a few weeks is often enough, and last-minute dates do come up.
Cancellation terms are set out in the charter agreement, and the deposit is usually not refundable, so we recommend charter cancellation insurance. If the weather turns, the captain decides whether it is safe to sail and moves you to sheltered water or changes the plan. More in our charter guide.
Tell us the date, the number of guests and the occasion. A broker replies with yachts that are free and a written quote. There is no charge for the quote.
We are not tied to one yacht or one marina. We compare yachts in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Bahamas and the US, and recommend the one that suits your group.
Your quote shows the rate, APA, VAT and fees before you commit, and the booking follows a standard charter agreement.
Every yacht is run by a professional captain and crew, so nobody in your group needs a license or sailing experience.
We also arrange weddings, proposals and anniversaries aboard, from small yachts to superyachts.
It depends on the yacht, the season and how long you stay. In Florida and the Bahamas, daily rates on this page start at $4,714, and most yachts are priced by the week. On top of the rate you pay an APA of around 20–35% for fuel, food and drinks, VAT where it applies, and an optional tip for the crew.
Yes. On a private charter the whole yacht is yours, so the crew can plan the day around the celebration: cake and drinks on deck, music and a swim stop. Each yacht has its own rules on decorations and guest numbers, which we confirm before you book.
Most charter yachts sleep up to 12 guests. Some group yachts sleep 30 or more, and some superyachts can host far more for an event in port: CHAKRA, for example, takes up to 250 guests. For a day charter the limit is often higher than the overnight number.
A cake, yes: the chef can make one or you can have one delivered to the yacht. Decorations are usually fine if they cannot damage the deck or end up in the sea, so confetti, glitter and sky lanterns are normally not allowed.
On most crewed charters the crew buys drinks for you through the APA. Some yachts allow your own wine or champagne, sometimes with a corkage fee. Tell us what you would like and we will check with the yacht.
