Beach Club Gran Folies

Beach Club Gran Folies is built into the rocky slope of Cala Llamp, a cove just outside Port d’Andratx in south-west Mallorca. Terraces with sunbeds, a pool and a restaurant step down the rocks towards the water.

One of Mallorca’s first beach clubs

The club describes itself as one of the most exclusive and oldest beach clubs on Mallorca, and it celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025. There is a pool with sea views, a solarium, a VIP area by the water and a cocktail bar, and a staircase leads down to a natural seawater pool in the cove for a swim.

The restaurant has three areas, a main dining room, a bistro and a VIP zone, and chef Alex Arquero runs the kitchen.

What to order

The menu runs from Mediterranean dishes to international cooking: paellas and other rice dishes, Mediterranean fish, seafood, pizzas and meat, with lobster paella and fish baked in salt among the classics. Order a rice for the table at lunch, then move to the cocktail bar later in the afternoon.

Getting there from the yacht

Gran Folies runs a zodiac service in Cala Llamp. It can collect guests from their boat and bring them to the restaurant, or take food out to the boat, so ask about it when you book. Anchoring on Posidonia seagrass is banned in the Balearics, so leave the choice of spot to the crew, who will look for a sand patch or a mooring buoy.

By road, the club is a few minutes by taxi from Port d’Andratx. There is a public car park at the entrance, but spaces are limited in high season.

Good to know

The club opens daily from May to October, from 10:30 until midnight; the restaurant serves until 23:00 and the pool closes at 19:30. Book tables and sunbeds online. Sunbeds are booked by the parasol, with two loungers each, for the whole day. The first lunch sitting is at 13:00 and the second, from 15:00, works from a waiting list. Children are welcome in the restaurant and the Solarium Beach area, but other sunbed areas are for over-12s.
