Ca n’Eduardo
Ca n’Eduardo sits above Sa Llotja des Peix, Palma’s fish market, on the fishermen’s quay below the old town. From the dining room you look across the bay to the cathedral and along the Paseo Marítimo, with Bellver Castle on the hill behind.
Eighty years on the fishing quay
The Carrasco family opened the restaurant in June 1943, and it marked its 80th anniversary in 2023. From the start the kitchen has cooked Mediterranean food from traditional recipes and local produce.
Rice, fresh fish and shellfish are the speciality. The fish comes straight from the auction rooms of the market downstairs, so it travels only a few metres to the kitchen. Several dishes, the paellas among them, have stayed on the menu for many years.
What to order
Order a rice for the table: paellas and fideuàs are made for at least two, from seafood or mixed paella to black rice with clams, arroz a banda with cod and a lobster paella. Bullit de peix, the Mallorcan fish stew served with its rice, is another dish for two.
For something simpler, there is sea bass baked in salt, sole meunière, monkfish in a shellfish sauce, or grilled lobster with fried eggs, chips and Padrón peppers.
Getting there from the yacht
The restaurant is on the Contramuelle Mollet, the fishermen’s quay next to the Real Club Náutico de Palma. From a berth at the club it is a walk of five to ten minutes. From Club de Mar and the other marinas further west along the Paseo Marítimo, allow around half an hour on foot, or take a taxi.
Good to know
The kitchen works without a break, so you can eat at any time during service: Tuesday to Saturday from 13:00 to 22:00, and Sunday from 13:00 to 15:30. The restaurant stays open until midnight and is closed on Mondays. Book online through the website or by phone, and ask for a table with a view of the bay when you book.
