Sa Llotja

Sa Llotja is a small, smart restaurant in the port building on Portocolom’s quay, looking out over the harbour. The cooking is Mediterranean and Spanish market food, with a strong Asturian streak in the fish and stews.

On top of the harbour building

The restaurant gives its address simply as the port building on Carrer dels Pescadors, and Mallorca Magazin describes it as sitting on the roof of the harbour office.

Joachim and José, who spent twelve years at Sa Llotja, went on to open a sister restaurant, Sa Llotja de Cala d’Or, with the chef Frank Bremer. Mallorca Magazin describes José as Asturian, which fits the cod and fabada on the menu.

What to order

Start with the frito de chipirones “Sa Llotja”, small fried squid, the octopus braised Galician style or the carpaccio of red prawns. The salt cod cooked the Asturian way is the house signature, and fabada, the Asturian bean stew, appears among the specials. Lobster comes with fried eggs and chips, and grilled turbot, grilled sea bass and sole meunière are regulars. Desserts are all made in house, including a Sa Llotja tiramisu with caramel ice cream.

The weekly set menu, with three courses, wine, water and coffee, is the easy choice for a group.

Getting there from the yacht

The restaurant is on the quay a short way from the Club Nàutic de Portocolom, so from a berth in the harbour it is a walk of two or three minutes. If the yacht lies off in the bay, the crew can land you at the quay by tender.

Good to know

The weekly menu is served from 13:00 to 14:30 and from 19:00 to 22:00. Book online through the website; for a table at less than 24 hours’ notice, call, and email for groups of ten or more. The restaurant takes a winter break, so check dates if you are visiting out of season.
