Snappas Bar & Grill

Snappas Bar & Grill is a waterside bar and restaurant inside the Conch Inn & Marina on Bay Street, Marsh Harbour, with a view of the sun going down over the harbour. Cruising crews have met here for happy hour for years.

Rebuilt after the storms

Snappas has been part of the Marsh Harbour waterfront for a long time, and hurricanes have forced it to rebuild more than once. The bar counts three versions of itself: the original, the much-loved second Snappas, and the current one, which it calls 3.0. That newest version is inside the Conch Inn & Marina, a family-owned marina and small resort on Bay Street, with a separate outdoor bar.

What to order

Begin with a half dozen of the house “Conch-iest” fritters, then try the local conch burger, the sesame seed conch tacos or a mahi-mahi sandwich, grilled, fried or blackened. On Saturday and Sunday, brunch from 10am to 2pm adds shrimp and grits and a hangover burger topped with a fried egg.

At the bar, ask for one of the original Snappas drinks, such as the Snappa’ Shaker, or a glass of the Snappas’ Amber Ale on draught. Sands and Kalik are both on the beer list.

Getting there from the yacht

The Conch Inn Marina has 73 slips and mooring balls, with fuel, 30 and 50 amp power and free Wi-Fi on the docks. Its listing gives 120 feet for length overall and a maximum draught of 7 feet, and it can arrange customs and immigration clearance on site. From the docks, the bar is a few steps away.

Good to know

Snappas opens at 11am from Monday to Friday, except Tuesday, when it opens at 5pm, and at 10am on Saturday and Sunday. It closes at 11pm, or at midnight on Friday and Saturday. Friday brings live music, Thursday is pizza night, and happy hour runs from 5pm to 6pm on Monday and Wednesday. Tables are reserved only for groups of six or more.
