Beach Club· Türkbükü, Bodrum, Bodrum Peninsula

Maçakızı

Maçakızı is a hotel on the hillside above Türkbükü bay, but much of its day happens on the wooden beach deck at the water’s edge. Day guests come for the sunbeds and lunch, and yachts anchored in the bay can use its pontoons.

From a 1977 guesthouse to a beach club

Ayla Emiroğlu, nicknamed Maçakızı, the Queen of Spades, opened a guesthouse in Bodrum in 1977. It moved to Göltürkbükü in 2000, and her son Sahir Erozan runs it today. According to press coverage the hotel publishes, only about a third of visitors are hotel guests; the rest come for the beach club, drinks and dinner. Condé Nast Traveller put it on its Gold List for 2026.

What to order

Lunch on the deck is at CafeMed, which serves Maçakızı classics and seafood. The lunch buffet is the other draw: salads of green beans and chickpeas, stuffed vine leaves, köfte, flatbreads, courgette fries and lahmacun. At the bar, try a negroni made with the hotel’s own rose liqueur.

For dinner, Maçakızı Restaurant holds a Michelin star under chef Aret Sahakyan. The inspectors picked out barbecued sea bream with a buttery fish sauce, and slow-cooked octopus with a tarhana sauce.

Getting there from the yacht

Türkbükü is on the north side of the Bodrum peninsula, about 22 km by road from Bodrum town. Anchor in the bay and take the tender to the beach deck: Maçakızı keeps two pontoons for visiting yacht owners from morning until evening.
