Bozburun Yacht Club

Bozburun Yacht Club is a small hotel and restaurant on the shore of Bozburun bay, on the Bozburun Peninsula south-west of Marmaris. It keeps a short jetty for visiting yachts, so it works as a berth for the night as well as a dinner stop.

A summer house turned yacht club

Oggusto, the Turkish food and travel magazine, traces the club to land that Süleyman Dirvana bought as a summer house, later turned into a boutique hotel and restaurant. The club’s own site points to Bozburun’s classic wooden boats, among them the Seddülbahir, built by Harun Ülmen in 1920. Today there are five sea-view rooms, and the club also offers sailing training and bay trips on classic sail and motor boats.

What to order

The kitchen cooks Aegean food from local produce: fish straight from the sea, olive-oil meze and dishes made with local herbs. Ask what fish came in that day and build the meal around meze to share. If you stay over, breakfast is worth a morning ashore; Yemek.com singled out the breakfast and the Turkish coffee served in hammocks.

Getting there from the yacht

The jetty takes around 8 to 10 boats, and in summer it fills quickly, so call ahead to ask for a berth. Boats alongside can use water, electricity, internet and a laundry service, and there is a library for guests. If the jetty is full, anchor in Bozburun bay and come ashore by tender.

Good to know

The club is busy in summer, so book a table when you book the berth. Call the landline or the mobile, and email for larger groups. Opening times are not published and change through the season, so check before you sail in. For guests arriving by land, the club can arrange a car from Marmaris.
