Indigo Indian Asian Restaurant & Bar

The menu brings together Indian curries and tandoor cooking with Chinese, Thai, Malaysian and other Asian dishes, and it caters well for vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten-free diets. Indigo says much of its produce is bought locally, with some grown on the restaurant’s own farm. It belongs to the same Fijian restaurant group as Bonefish, a few doors along the waterfront.

The signature dish is masala crab: Fijian mud crab in a gravy of cashews and coconut milk, scented with curry leaves and mustard seeds. Butter chicken is the other house favourite, and the marina’s own directory also recommends the mussalam of lamb.

For a group, order the Grand Tandoor, a sharing platter from the clay oven. The meat version brings tandoori chicken, seekh kebab and malai tikka with house chutneys, and the vegetarian one has paneer tikka, tandoori cauliflower and stuffed mushrooms.

Indigo is in the Port Denarau Marina shopping complex, a short walk from the floating Jetty C, where finger berths take yachts up to 115 metres. Denarau Island is joined to the mainland by road, so a taxi or bus also reaches the marina easily, and the island is small enough to walk between the resorts and the port.

Indigo opens every day, including weekends and public holidays, from late morning until 10pm. Booking is recommended at busy times, and walk-ins are seated when there is space. Private dining and events can be arranged, and takeaway is available, with delivery on Denarau Island. The restaurant and its toilets are wheelchair accessible.
