Da Noi
Da Noi is a boutique café and lounge bar on Piran’s seafront, with a terrace looking straight out to sea. It serves from breakfast until late evening, and its setting is part of the appeal: the bar sits inside one of the town’s few surviving medieval wall towers.
History in the walls
The old stone of the tower is still visible in the part of the bar where the drinks are made. In later times a house was built inside the tower, and it stood against the wall, with the sea around it, until 1935.
During the renovation the owners kept a column with a 15th-century capital and the coat of arms of the Furegoni family, who were in Piran from the 15th century and whose heirs lived in the town until the middle of the 20th.
What to order
Mornings are for coffee and a brioche, which the bar says are the best in town, or another freshly baked pastry. Later, the list turns to creative cocktails and wines from Slovenian and Croatian Istria, with small plates made from fresh, seasonal ingredients to go with them.
Getting there from the yacht
From Marina Portorož it is around 10 minutes by taxi to Piran. Da Noi is on the waterfront between Tartini Square and the Punta, a few minutes’ walk from the square.
Good to know
Da Noi opens every day from early morning until late evening. The bright, carefully designed room indoors stays comfortable in cooler or windy weather, so the bar works all year round, and the terrace is the place to be at sunset in summer.
