Erimitis Bar Restaurant
Erimitis is a bar and restaurant on the west coast of Paxos, looking out over the Ionian towards the sunset and the cliffs of Erimitis. Come for a drink at the bar as the sun goes down, then stay on for dinner.
From vineyard bar to restaurant
Erimitis opened in 2001 as a casual bar, built from local Paxos stone among the Antiohos family’s vines. The restaurant followed in 2004, and the place has been extended and upgraded step by step since then. The bar was renovated recently. It has its own space beside the restaurant and shares the same wide view of the sea and the Erimitis cliffs, which keep the colours of the sunset well after the sun has gone.
What to order
At the bar, order one of the signature cocktails or a classic and watch the sky change. In the restaurant, the kitchen takes simple, good ingredients, adds its own twist and keeps to the traditions of Paxiot cooking. The current menu includes sea bass ceviche with passion fruit, a Greek salad with feta mousse and sea fennel, baked aubergine with tahini and walnuts, a crab salad, prawn calamarata pasta and a mushroom risotto with truffle.
Getting there from the yacht
Erimitis is near the village of Magazia on the west side of the island, so take a taxi from the harbour where your yacht is moored. The restaurant advises guests to book both the outward and the return taxi early, and lists local taxi and minibus drivers on its website.
Good to know
Erimitis opens every evening from 6pm to 11pm. Reservations are taken for the restaurant only and are best made at least two days ahead; card details are needed to hold the table, and late cancellations and no-shows are charged. Every restaurant table faces the sunset. For the bar, arrive early, because space is limited. Bring a light layer, as a breeze can pick up once the sun has set.
