Savino Rock Bar

Savino calls itself the most original rock bar and live-music venue in Larnaca. It is in the streets just behind the seafront near the medieval fort, a short walk from Larnaca Marina. It suits guests who would rather hear a band than sit in a lounge.

A rock bar with a stage

Savino is a bar first and a gig venue second, with live shows billed as Savino Live. The programme mixes Cypriot rock and folk acts with touring heavy and doom bands from Greece and further afield, plus tribute nights, and there are often several gigs a week.

Recent bills have included the Athens bands Acid Mammoth and Hermaphrodite’s Child, the Cypriot songwriter Arda with guitarist Socrates Leptos, and In Honour Of Metallica, a tribute band that played its very first show at Savino. Some nights mark anniversaries, such as that band’s return a year after its debut.

What to order

Order a beer or ask the bartenders for a cocktail. Food comes from Pikla, a Cypriot street-food kitchen inside the bar, made for late nights and gigs: loaded fries with pastourma and cheddar sauce, the “Sure Thing” chicken burger, halloumi burgers and signature sandwiches. Pikla gives its street food a local twist, and it goes well with a beer.

Getting there from the yacht

From Larnaca Marina, walk south along the Finikoudes promenade towards the fort. The bar is on Watkins Street, about 10 to 15 minutes on foot, or a few minutes by taxi.

Good to know

Savino opens from the afternoon until late; current hours are shown on the website. Gigs usually start around 9pm, and some are ticketed, so check the events page first. The website lists no phone number, so use its contact form or the venue’s social media pages for questions.
