Pyxida Fish Tavern
Pyxida is a fish tavern inside Limassol Marina, which makes it one of the easiest seafood dinners in Cyprus to reach from a berth. The Cypriot group behind it, founded by Giannos Christoforou and Petros Georgiou, has been serving seafood since 2004 and also runs a Pyxida in central Nicosia.
A fish tavern in the marina
The Limassol branch sits among the shops, cafés and restaurants of Limassol Marina. The founders’ stated aim is simple: buy the freshest fish they can from local fishermen and trusted suppliers around the Mediterranean, cook it well and serve it without fuss. The group’s Nicosia branch won the Best Concept award at the 2025 Cyprus Eating Awards.
What to order
Start with the catch of the day, which changes with the market and is priced by the kilo. Expect fish such as dentex, grouper, John Dory, Dover sole and large sea bass, along with Cypriot prawns, jumbo prawns, Canadian lobster and king crab. Large fish can be baked in a sea-salt crust, and lobster can be cooked thermidor.
The daily specials are worth reading too: seafood rice, rice or pasta with cuttlefish, prawn orzo, prawns with spinach and grilled octopus with a Commandaria sauce and fava, beside traditional pulses such as black-eyed beans and lentils.
Getting there from the yacht
Pyxida is inside Limassol Marina, so from a berth there it is a short walk along the quays. From the old port and the castle it is about five minutes on foot. If the yacht is anchored off Limassol instead, check with the marina office about landing guests by tender.
Good to know
The Limassol restaurant is open every day from noon to 11pm, serving straight through the afternoon. Book online through the website or by phone. The fish list changes every day, so ask what has come in before you order.
