Zori

Zori is a seafood restaurant at Palmižana on Sveti Klement, one of the Pakleni islands opposite Hvar Town. It opens from May to October, for lunch and dinner every day.

A family place since 1947

The family says Zorko and Rita founded the restaurant on this spot in 1947, and Iva and Renato Tomlinović, the third generation, run it now. Chef Siniša Jevrosimov cooks Mediterranean seafood with the occasional Japanese technique, over a wood-charcoal grill and with produce from the restaurant’s own garden. There are also four residences on the site, and Zori lists Condé Nast Traveller and Falstaff among the publications that have covered it.

What to order

There is no printed menu. The card is set at noon around the morning’s catch, so expect dishes such as tuna tartare, octopus carpaccio, black risotto, scampi alla buzara or sea bass. Desserts include a Hvar lavender crème brûlée. Adriatic lobster has to be ordered a day ahead, so ask when you book.

Getting there from the yacht

ACI Marina Palmižana, on the north-east side of Sveti Klement, is about five minutes’ walk from Zori through the pine woods. The marina’s daily berths take boats up to 15 metres, and there is a sheltered bay where boats also anchor. Without your own boat, taxi boats cross from the western side of Hvar Town harbour in about ten minutes.

Good to know

Lunch is served from 12:00 to 15:00 and dinner from 18:30, daily from May to October; the restaurant closes for the rest of the year. Book online for instant confirmation, or by phone or WhatsApp on the same number, and book well ahead for dinner in July and August.
