Beach Club· Stipanska, Marinkovac, Split & Hvar

Carpe Diem Beach

Carpe Diem Beach fills Stipanska, a pine-backed cove on Marinkovac, one of the Pakleni islands opposite Hvar Town. It can be reached only by boat, and it works as a beach club by day, with a sunset terrace in the evening.

Two beaches and a sunset terrace

The club spreads across two beaches, with daybeds and cabanas, a pool facing the sea, nets slung over the water and massages. The Carpe Diem name goes back to 1998, when its sister bar opened on Hvar Town’s waterfront. From early June to mid-September an open-air terrace runs the “Chase the Sunset” programme from 16:00 to midnight, with free entry.

What to order

The restaurant cooks Mediterranean dishes with a focus on seafood, and Luxury Travel Magazine picks the sushi, with tuna, salmon, shrimp and crab, as the highlight. In high summer pizza is served from late afternoon, and cocktails run all day. Day packages can be arranged by email or WhatsApp.

Getting there from the yacht

During the day you can anchor off the south side of Marinkovac and take the tender in, but the club has no buoys. Without your own boat, taxi boats leave from in front of the Mlinar bakery in Hvar Town every 20 minutes and return from the club on the hour. The crossing takes about ten minutes.

Good to know

In May and June the restaurant, sushi and pizza are served from 12:00 to 19:00. From June to September the restaurant keeps those hours, sushi runs from 14:00 to 22:00 and pizza from 17:00 to 23:00. Book daybeds by email or WhatsApp; the club recommends at least 10 days ahead. The dress code is smart casual.
