Hula Hula Hvar

Hula Hula is a beach bar on the shore west of Hvar Town’s harbour, best known as the place to watch the sun go down. Days are for swimming and sunbeds on its deck; towards sunset the music picks up and the cocktails come out.

Sea by day, music at sunset

The bar sums itself up in four words: beach, food, music, sunset. Sunbeds on the deck come with an umbrella and service from the bar, so you can spend a whole afternoon between the sea and the lounger. Daytime music is relaxed, and the tempo rises as the evening comes on. The Hvar tourist board lists it among the town’s bars.

What to order

The kitchen keeps things light: Mediterranean-style plates and snacks to eat by the water, cold drinks and the bar’s own signature cocktails. It works well as a late lunch and a swim that runs on into a drink at sunset, before dinner in town.

Getting there from the yacht

From Hvar Town harbour, walk west along the seafront promenade for about 10 to 15 minutes; the bar is roughly 700 metres from the harbour. If you are anchored off the town or berthed at ACI Marina Palmižana on the Pakleni islands, take the tender or a taxi boat into the harbour first and walk from there.

Good to know

The website gives daily hours of 09:00 to 22:00. Sunbeds can be requested through the booking form on the site, but a request is not a confirmed booking until the bar replies. The deck is busiest around sunset in July and August, so come early for a good seat, and check opening dates if you visit early or late in the year.
