About Kingship

Kingship Marine Ltd. is a respected Hong Kong–based superyacht builder known for its focus on custom steel and aluminium yachts in the 30 m – 50 m range, combining European naval architecture with Asian craftsmanship and project management.

Kingship Marine stands as one of Asia’s most distinctive yacht builders — a Hong Kong‑based yard combining European naval architecture with Asian precision. Founded by Roger Li, Kingship builds custom steel and aluminium yachts to Lloyd’s and MCA standards, collaborating with studios such as Vripack, Horacio Bozzo, and Espen Øino. Its projects, including Christina G and Green Voyager, reflect a philosophy of long‑range capability, sustainability, and understated luxury. The yard’s Zhuhai facilities deliver Northern‑European‑grade craftsmanship, producing explorer‑class yachts that balance technical excellence with refined design.

Every Kingship yacht embodies two decades of marine engineering and artisanal mastery. The shipyard’s ethos is rooted in purposeful design — eliminating excess, refining detail, and allowing beauty to emerge through simplicity. Efficiency and sustainability define its approach: lightweight aluminium hulls, eco‑aware materials, and intelligent layouts that reduce crew requirements while enhancing comfort. Concepts such as the Kingship 88 and KingCat 90 express this vision — affordable, regulation‑free yachts under 24 m that combine hybrid propulsion, spacious living, and minimal environmental impact. In essence, Kingship champions clarity and restraint, creating vessels that are technically superior, aesthetically enduring, and deeply attuned to modern ownership.

Origins and Philosophy

Founded in the early 2000s by Roger Li, Kingship emerged as one of Asia’s first shipyards dedicated exclusively to full‑custom superyachts built to Lloyd’s and MCA standards. The yard is located in Zhuhai, China, strategically positioned near Hong Kong for logistics and client access. From the outset, Kingship’s philosophy has been to deliver Western‑standard quality with Asian efficiency, working closely with leading European designers and naval architects.

Design and Projects

Kingship collaborates with studios such as Vripack International and Peter Beeldsnijder (PB Design), producing yachts that balance long‑range capability with refined interiors. Notable builds include:

  • Christina G (40 m) — a steel/aluminium explorer yacht with Vripack design, launched 2010.

  • Green Voyager (44 m) — a hybrid‑ready concept emphasizing sustainability and low‑emission cruising.

  • Ocean Green series — semi‑custom expedition yachts designed for transoceanic range and comfort.

The shipyard’s facilities include covered construction halls, metal fabrication workshops, and outfitting docks capable of handling yachts up to 60 m.

Reputation and Vision

Kingship has earned recognition for environmentally conscious design, robust engineering, and attention to detail that rivals European yards. Its yachts often feature long‑range hulls, eco‑friendly systems, and interiors tailored for Asian and international owners seeking understated luxury. The company positions itself as a bridge between East and West — combining Italian design flair, Dutch naval architecture, and Chinese precision manufacturing.

Their main current projects include:
KINGSHIP 45-metre

An ongoing project, originally designed by Axis Group, the Kingship 45m is currently an amazing opportunity for a new buyer. Usual timescale for building such a yacht would probably be 2 years, yet as the project is ongong, new owner could start sailing on this spectacular yacht in a very short period of time in comparison.
KINGCAT 90
As long-standing builders of catamarans, Kingship are well placed to launch a new model. The KingCat 90 compares equally to a typical 38m monohull design yet for the first time in this category, a full-beam master suite and four spacious double guest cabins are located in the prime main deck positions, allowing ofr uninterrupted views and abundant natural light to come into the interior. The accommodation is secured for up to 12 guests and 8 crew, which makes this superyacht a remarkable design.
KINGSHIP 88 - Closed Flybridge
Kingship 88 is an all-aluminium, full-displacement ‘mini superyacht’ concept under 24-metres. She offers approximately 60% equivalent volume of a 35-metre yacht. This makes her a highly comfortable, long-range cruiser with separate crew quarters well away from the guest areas. She is accepted as the only design in the under 100ft category with seamless integration from the crew quarters up to the bridge, with galley and crew mess all located on the main deck. The 100% aluminium structure provides amazing fuel consumption savings of up to 15% when compared to equivalent length yachts built in steel. Steel yachts usually weight twice as much and in some up to three times as much.

This Closed Fly/bridge version is ideal for colder, northern weather climates where additional protection allows the owner and yacht charter guests to relax in warm and safe area while watching the wildlife and nature from a protected, elevated position.
KINGSHIP 88 - Open Flybridge
Similar to the Closed Fly version, the Kingship 88 Open Fly is also an all-aluminium, full-displacement ‘mini superyacht. The open fly is ideal for warmer climates and specifically for the Med or the Caribbean charter fleets.

KINGSHIP Refit Division
Kingship’s refit division mirrors the precision and craftsmanship of its new‑build program, offering full‑service refit and repair for yachts of all sizes at its advanced Hong Kong facility. With ISO 9001:2008 certification and an in‑house team of engineers, shipwrights, and finishers, Kingship handles projects up to 600 tons — collaborating with leading designers such as Vripack, PB Design, Barracuda, and Axis Group Design to deliver world‑class results at competitive rates.

In short, Kingship Marine represents a distinctive chapter in Asian yacht building: a Hong Kong‑rooted yard with global standards, explorer‑class ambition, and a reputation for quiet excellence.
