About Falcon Yachts
Falcon Yachts Shipyard — Viareggio, Italy
Falcon Yachts are a long-established Italian brand that had some difficulties in recent years. However, they have been successfully taken over by an International Group and are looking as good as ever. The shipyard now heavily focuses on Navetta, a full displacement model in steel and alumunium within the 30-50-metres segment.
Originally the company named ''Cielo Terra Mare'' focused on luxury asset brokerage with ''Cantieri Navali Falcon'' established in 1988 in Viareggio. The CNF focused on building quality yachts combining quality engineering and unique designs with classic, well designed interiors, focusing on luxury motor yachts in the 86-121ft range.
Executive Summary:
When modern Falcon Yachts was founded in 1988 in Viareggio by Edoardo Spreafico, the yard quickly became known for fibreglass motor yachts in the 20–35m range, defined by classic lines, refined interiors, and strong performance at sea. By 1992, demand for larger yachts led to the creation of a second facility—Falcon Yachts Srl—strategically located in the heart of Viareggio’s port area, enabling the construction of the larger Falcon models including the Falcon 102 and the flagship Falcon 115. Lately, the shipyard is focusing on genuine superyachts in the 30-50metres range.
What Falcon Yachts is known for
1. Classic GRP Motor Yachts (86’–121’)
Falcon earned international recognition for:
High‑quality GRP construction
Clear, elegant Italian exterior lines
Refined interiors
Strong, reliable performance
These traits became the signature of the Falcon 86, 90, 100, 102, and 115 series.
2. Skilled Tuscan craftsmanship
The Viareggio and Pisa region is a historic shipbuilding hub, giving Falcon access to highly experienced local artisans and craftsmen—a major factor in the yard’s reputation for quality.
3. MCA and RINA‑compliant builds
Falcon yachts were built to recognised international standards, reinforcing their reputation for strength, safety, and longevity.
The Modern Era — Falcon’s Rebirth
After the passing of founder Edoardo Spreafico in 2018, Falcon Yachts was acquired by a Middle Eastern investment group in 2019–2020. The new ownership is repositioning Falcon as a builder of Navetta‑style full‑displacement yachts in steel and aluminium, in the 30–50m segment.
This marks a strategic shift:
No new GRP planing yachts (like the Falcon 115) are being produced
The brand is being revived with a focus on larger, slower, long‑range yachts
The heritage of the classic Falcon models is being emphasised as part of the brand’s identity
