Brooke Marine

Brooke Marine is no longer an active, trading shipyard. The historic British yard ceased operations decades ago, and its successor entities have also ended activity.

Specific details:
Brooke Marine, the renowned Lowestoft shipyard founded in 1874, closed in the late 1980s after nationalisation and declining orders. It briefly reopened for yacht production until 1992, and a later iteration, Brooke Marine Yachts Ltd., operated only between 2006 and 2009 before ceasing activity.

The corporate entity Brooke Marine Shipbuilders Limited still exists on paper, but until recently was in liquidation and registered as a non‑trading company, meaning it does not build yachts or operate as a shipyard.

Legacy:
Brooke Marine’s legacy lives on through its yachts — including WIND OF CHANGE — but the shipyard itself no longer trades and has not produced vessels for many years.

S/Y WIND OF CHANGE charters in East Med from 24,000 Eur/week plus VAT/APA.
