Bloemsma & Van Breemen

A unique shipyard, Bloemsma & Van Breemen was known as a premier yacht building company. Based in the Netherlands, the shipyard was launched in early 1970's and as a company that specialises in the design and construction of customised yachts under the Jachtwerf Bloemsma van Makkum brand.

Up to recently, they were reported to have successfully launched more than 140 yacht projects since its incorporation in 1974. The shipyard launched both high-end motoryachts and sailing yachts made of steel and aluminium alloy. Their comlete range of operations included construction of high-end megayahcts for other yacht building companies as well. It was late 1990s that the technical team of Nico van Breemen took the overall management of operations of the company’s production facility. As a result and from 1997 onwards, the company transitioned into a full-fledged yacht building company. Their core business maintained co-working operations and subcontracting projects for other yacht builders, particularly, in the construction of hulls made out of aluminium alloy.
