The Story Behind the New SuperSailYachts Website

Most people who charter a yacht with us meet us online first. They arrive with a rough idea of where they would like to go and who is coming, often on a phone, and they want to see real yachts and real details before they speak to anyone. When we set out to rebuild our website, that first visit was the moment we designed for.

This is the story of how the new SuperSailYachts website came together: what we wanted it to do, what it does today, and the team who built it with us.

Who we are

SuperSailYachts is a yacht charter and brokerage business based in Birmingham. Our founder, Eldin Basic, has spent more than two decades in luxury yachting. Today we arrange crewed charters around the world, help clients buy and sell yachts, look after yacht management and plan bespoke itineraries.

That range is what our clients value, but it made the website a real challenge. A group of friends looking for a week on a catamaran, a couple planning their honeymoon and a buyer considering their first yacht all need something different from the same homepage.

What we asked for

Our brief came down to three things.

  • It should feel like a charter with us. Calm, unhurried and led by photography, so the yachts and the places set the mood.
  • It should be honest about the practical details. Our clients are discerning, and they want to find payment terms, cancellation and provisioning without hunting for them.
  • Every visitor should find the right door quickly. Charter, a special occasion or yacht sales, each with its own clear route.

Built around the yachts

The heart of the website is our charter collection: around 350 crewed yachts, from sailing catamarans to motor superyachts. Every yacht has her own page, with a gallery of the decks, saloons and cabins, the specifications that matter when you compare (length, guests, cabins, crew and cruising speed), her features and amenities, her cruising area and the charter rate.

The search starts on the homepage, where you choose a destination, a type of yacht and the number of guests. From there the collection can be filtered by length, region and budget, and you can compare yachts side by side before you decide which ones to ask us about.

Behind the scenes, our team manages the fleet, special offers, itineraries and enquiries from an admin dashboard. When a yacht joins the collection or a rate changes, we update it ourselves, so the website keeps pace with the fleet.

Destinations, told the way we would tell a friend

Choosing the yacht is half the decision; where you sail is the other half. We now have 21 destination guides, from Greece, Croatia and Italy to the Caribbean, the Bahamas and the South Pacific. Each guide covers the main cruising areas and the best months to go, and most add sample itineraries, the weather through the year and the yachts available there.

For several of them, including Italy, Greece, Croatia, Mallorca and the South Pacific, a map shows the waterfront restaurants, beach clubs and bars we recommend, with notes on what to order and how to reach each one from the yacht.

For the moments worth celebrating

Many charters begin with an occasion, so each one has its own page: birthday charters, weddings and honeymoons, all-inclusive charters, overnight stays, long-term charters and transatlantic crossings. They sit alongside our luxury catamaran charters and current special offers.

For clients who are ready to own a yacht, yacht sales has a home of its own, with the yachts we currently have for sale.

A journal for the people we sail with

The Journal is where we share news from the yachts and shipyards we work with, alongside practical guides such as the best time to charter a yacht in Italy. It has grown to more than 50 articles, and it keeps growing.

The team who built it with us

None of this would fit an off-the-shelf template. We needed a search across hundreds of yachts, destination guides that bring in the right fleet for each region, enquiry forms that reach our brokers with the details they need, and a dashboard our own team could run day to day.

So we worked with Exibify, a London-based custom software development agency in the UK. They designed and built the platform with us: a dark theme with a light mode for easy reading, a homepage search that starts with where, what and who, one menu that gathers all our charter specials, and the admin dashboard that keeps everything current.

They have stayed with us as the website has grown, adding destination guides, maps and new pages as our business has needed them. For us that has mattered more than any single feature: the website now works the way our brokers do.

What comes next

A website like this is never finished. New yachts join the collection, destination guides gain maps and itineraries, and the Journal keeps growing. If you are new to the site, our short guide to exploring your next yacht charter online explains how to make the most of it.

Or start with the charter collection and tell us where and when you would like to cruise. Send an enquiry from any yacht’s page or through our contact form, call or message us on WhatsApp on +44 7792 052007, or email charter@supersailyachts.com.
