Restaurant· Marciana Marina, Elba, Tuscany
Ristorante Capo Nord
On the beach at Marciana Marina, on Elba’s north coast, Ristorante Capo Nord looks west to the island of Capraia, where the sun sets over the sea. It is a short walk along the seafront from the harbour, which makes it an easy dinner on an Elba charter.
On the beach by the old tower
The restaurant stands on La Fenicia beach, next to the Torre degli Appiani, the old tower at the harbour entrance. There is a terrace for warm evenings and a glass-walled dining room in blue, white and wood, designed to recall a classic wooden boat.
It is run by the Adriani family. Attilio Adriani, a sommelier since 1992, has built a cellar of around 600 wines, with some 60 Champagnes, and pours fine wines by the glass.
What to order
The cooking is creative but rooted in Elban tradition, mostly fish, with vegetables from the restaurant’s own garden. The signature is spaghetti with octopus ragù, made to a recipe from Attilio’s mother. Part of the menu changes several times a season with the catch, and there are tasting menus with a wine for each course. If you know your plans, order the raw platter of local fish a day ahead, as the kitchen needs the notice.
Getting there from the yacht
Marciana Marina is a harbour town, and the restaurant is on the beach beside the tower at the harbour entrance. From the quay it is a few minutes’ walk along the seafront.
Good to know
Capo Nord opens from late March to late October for lunch and dinner. It closes on Mondays, except in June, July and August. Book by phone or email, and ask for a table on the terrace at sunset.
