Restaurant Marina

Restaurant Marina is a small, fish-only restaurant in Novigrad, on the west coast of Istria. Chef Marina Gaši and sommelier Davor Buršić run it together, and the Michelin Guide includes it in its 2026 selection for Croatia.

A restaurant built on the catch

The couple say they started nearly a decade ago, and the idea has stayed the same: everything on the plate comes from the Adriatic. There is no fixed menu. What you eat depends on the season, the weather and what the local fishermen bring in, so two visits a week apart can look quite different. The dining room is small, with 40 seats inside according to the Istrian tourist board.

What to order

Lunch is a tasting menu of four or six courses, and dinner runs to six or eight, all of them fish and seafood. At lunch you can add the pasta of the day, made fresh in the kitchen, and a signature aperitivo with three small snacks. Desserts come from a separate daily list.

Davor Buršić pairs each menu with wines by the glass, chosen mainly from local and nearby producers. Tell the restaurant about allergies or other dietary needs when you book, because the menu cannot always be changed on the night.

Getting there from the yacht

Marina Nautica, Novigrad’s marina, is about 300 metres from the restaurant, so from your berth it is a walk of around five minutes. If you are staying aboard elsewhere on the coast, a taxi to Novigrad is the simplest way in for dinner.
