Cave Bar More

You reach the bar through the hotel or down from the promenade that runs above it along the shore. Inside, sofas fill the cool rock chambers; outside, the terrace sits just above the sea. The bar opens for morning coffee and carries on through lunch and into the evening. Guests quoted on its website warn that it fills up as sunset approaches.

The current list includes house cocktails such as the Cave Spritz, the Dubrovnik Sunset and From Croatia With Love, which is made with olive oil. The Dubrovnik gin and tonic uses a local gin, Dubrovnik Gin Expression Habitat, with rosemary and dried orange. Food is served from 12:00 to 22:00, and the Plate Cave of Dalmatian prosciutto, cheese, olives and pickled onions goes well with a sundowner.

The bar is on the Lapad side of Dubrovnik, about 1.3 kilometres in a straight line from Marina Frapa in Gruž bay. A taxi takes a few minutes, or you can walk it in about 25 minutes. From ACI Marina Dubrovnik at Komolac, further up the river, take a taxi.

The bar is open from 08:00 to 23:00 and does not take reservations, so simply turn up, and arrive well before sunset for a table on the terrace. It also hosts private events and weddings, arranged through the hotel’s events team by email or on the switchboard number.
