LEGEND

LEGEND is a 77.4-metre ice-class expedition superyacht, refitted in 2016 to become the world’s only privately chartered ice-breaking luxury yacht. SOLAS certified and Lloyd’s Polar Class A1 rated, she is capable of navigating Antarctica, Greenland, and other extreme environments. Accommodating up to 22 guests in 11 cabins and supported by a crew of 33, LEGEND features helicopters, a submarine, expedition tenders, and advanced safety systems, delivering a once-in-a-lifetime luxury exploration experience. She cruises at speeds at just above 10kn and can be made available in remote locations on request.

Her ex-name was GIANT, and as a class 1 icebreaking vessel, she is not the ultimate explorer yacht. She has a dark grey hull, with the design and engineering to full Lloyds certification. The interior was upgraded by Thom Beerens and Jan Verkerk. The main feature is the a large dining area, a fitness room, movie theatre and most importantly a full medical suite on the main deck. Best of all, the owner’s area features a helicopter pad on the aft deck, with a king size bed, bar and his-and-her’s en-suites inside. Further changes include the addition of a swimming pool and platform, a stern extension by ca. 10feet, and the creation of a foredeck garage for submarine storage. Finally, suitable cranes have also bee added to enable the launch of water toys.
