Kavarna Triglav
Kavarna Triglav has been part of Koper’s social life since 1957. The café and pastry shop sits on the seafront promenade, with a neat terrace looking out to sea.
A Koper meeting place
Being close to the town market has always made Triglav a place where people from Koper meet, and it remains a local stop for coffee and something sweet. The team describes its cakes and pastries as “little sweet miracles” and is happy to take special requests.
Besides ice cream and cakes, the counter has biscuits, coffee and chocolate treats and a range of drinks, and the terrace on the promenade has a fine view of the sea.
What to order
Try the fresh ice cream, in a long list of cream and fruit flavours, or one of the cakes. Every cake is hand-painted, so no two are the same, in flavours from chocolate and hazelnut to sour cherry, blueberry and lemon.
The coffee is from Costadoro and the teas from Canton Tea Co, served hot in winter and iced in summer. There is always one dessert for diabetics, and cakes without eggs, sugar, flour or gluten can be made to order.
Getting there from the yacht
Pristaniška ulica is the seafront road in the centre of Koper, close to the market. From Marina Koper it is about five minutes’ walk along the waterfront, so it is an easy first stop after berthing.
Good to know
Triglav is open every day of the week. It also takes cake orders by phone or online, which is useful for a birthday or celebration on board: order ahead and collect the cake on the way back to the yacht.
